Spring semester is back in session and our PPA team is excited to see how the 2016 Student Design Challenge (SDC) will unfold!
Professors and students are buzzing about this year’s challenge to design an innovative premium package for dry foods, such as cereal, cookies, crackers, pasta and rice. Several professors have said that their students cannot wait to explore this year’s challenge to create a new dry goods package with a structural component that enhances its function and stands out on upscale grocery store shelves.
Another exciting highlight for this semester is the distribution of the Ideas & Innovations handbooks. Our friends at the Paperboard Packaging Council, continues to play an integral part in the SDC by sponsoring handbooks that teach students about the versatility of paperboard. Former SDC participants have boasted that the handbook led them to place in the top three!
So, are you ready for the challenge? Can you envision yourself on stage at the 2016 SDC awards luncheon presenting your design process and walking across the stage with your winning check in hand? If the answer is yes, we look forward to seeing you there!
We’d like to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns about the SDC. If you haven’t already done so, make sure your school has submitted the intent form to participate in this year’s challenge.
We hope you enjoy working with our favorite substrate: paperboard.
